JEE Mains Eligibility Criteria 2021

Former Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has declared that the BArch 2021 admission criterion and the NTA JEE Mains 2021 qualifying criteria would be relaxed. 75 percent of the criterion for NIT and IIIT admissions have been eliminated in the new JEE Mains qualifying criteria 2021.

 

JEE Mains Eligibility Criteria 2021

Candidates were urged to examine the qualifying requirements established by the authorities before filling out the JEE Mains 2021 application form. Ineligible candidates will not be admitted. Three factors will be considered in determining a candidate’s JEE eligibility 2021: qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2 or equivalent), date of birth, and qualifying marks for JEE Mainss 2021.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Mainss in 2021- A List of Qualifying Exams

Detailed JEE Mains Eligibility Criteria 2021

  1. Number of Attempts in JEE Mains
  • Candidates get three chances to pass the JEE Mains test and two chances to pass the JEE Advanced exam.
  • The number of attempts and age restriction for JEE Mains for admission in Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Gujarat, and Odisha universities would be comparable to prior patterns of their respective state-level examinations.

 

  1. Nationality
  • Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) can also apply for JEE Mains 2021 by submitting category certificates at all levels of the examination.
  • Candidates must be Indian citizens.

 

 

  1. Number of Subjects Required for the Qualifying Examination (Class XII)
  • Candidates for Paper 1 (B.Tech) must have studied Physics and Mathematics as required courses in high school, with Chemistry and Biotechnology as optional topics.
  • Candidates for Papers 2A and 2B must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as required subjects in 12th grade.

 

  1. Marks Required in Class XII (Qualifying Examination)
  • For the JEE Mains test, there are no minimum marks necessary in class XII.
  • For admission to NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and SPAs in 2021, a score of 75% in CLass 12th is not required.

 

  1. Date of Birth Criteria
  • General and OBC candidates born on or after October 1, 1994 will be eligible to sit the JEE Mains 2021 exam.
  • The maximum age restriction for JEE Mains is lowered by 5 years for the reserve category, which includes persons from the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities, as well as Persons with Disabilities (PwD) who were born on or after October 1, 1989.
  • The date of birth listed on the Secondary Education Board/University Certificate shall be taken into account.

 

  1. Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (Class XII)
  • To apply for JEE Mains 2021, you must have passed your Class XII examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in the years 2019 or 2020 or 2021.
  • Candidates who will be taking the class XII exam in 2021 or any other qualifying exam can also apply for the JEE Mains 2021 test.
  • Candidates who completed their 12th grade in 2018 or earlier are not eligible to take the JEE Mains exam.

 

  1. Aadhar Card Criteria
  • When filling out the application form for the JEE Mains 2021 test, candidates do not need to include data from their Aadhar card.
  • Candidates are required to register any form of identity, including a passport, bank account number, ration card number, any valid government ID, or Aadhar card, according to a notification published by NTA.
  • The JEE Mains form filling procedure has begun, and applicants may immediately begin by inputting details of valid and approved papers.

State of Eligibility – Important Points

  • The code for the state where a candidate completed class 12th is the state of eligibility.
  • The candidate’s native location or place of residence has no bearing on the state’s qualifying code.
  • If an applicant has completed a state’s class 12 or similar test but has taken the improvement exam in another state, the state code where the student first passed the qualifying exam will be used to determine eligibility.
  • Candidates who have finished the NIOS 12th standard or equivalent must pick the state of eligibility of JEE Mains based on the location of the study centre.
  • The State Code of eligibility of JEE Mains for Indian citizens who have completed class 12th or equivalent in Nepal/Bhutan will be decided based on the candidate’s permanent address in India as shown in his or her passport.
  • OCI/PIOs who pass the Class 12th standard exam in India will have the same state code of eligibility of JEE Mains as Indian nationals; however, OCI/PIOs who pass the 12th standard exam in another country will be eligible for other state quota seats or All India quota seats (but not for Home State quota seats) in all NITs, IIESTs, and Other-CFTIs.

Eligibility Criteria for Admissions to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs in JEE Mains 2021

  • Admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs requires only a passing grade in class 12 regardless of percentage.
  • B.Arch/B.Planning JEE Mains 2021 Candidates must have passed a recognized board’s 10+2 or equivalent exam, or a 10+3 diploma with Mathematics as a required subject.

 

JEE Mains 2021- Subject Combinations for Admissions

To get into NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs through NTA JEE Mains 2021, you must have passed the qualifying test with the topics listed below.

  • B.Tech/B.E – Physics and Mathematics are required for B.Tech/B.E students, as well as one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Technical Vocational.
  • B.Arch -Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry are all part of the B.Arch program.
  • B.Planning – Must have completed a qualifying test in Mathematics.

JEE Mains Eligibility Criteria for Droppers

  • There are no age restrictions for JEE Mains 2021.
  • They must have completed their class 12 test in 2019/2020 or be scheduled to sit for it in 2021. For JEE Mains, you can only take the exam three times in a row.
  • A minimum qualifying score should have been attained.
  • For the 12th grade or qualifying test, he or she should have taken at least five topics (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics compulsory).
