Deemed Universities have autonomy granted by the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) under MHRD. Deemed to be universities with full autonomy or independence authority are deciding courses, admission, syllabus, and fees. Deemed-to-be universities perform well and are considered to be full-fledged universities.

There are more than 6,200 MBBS seats offered by deemed to be universities. These universities offer MBBS courses in Management and General quota.

These deemed universities also offer hostel services to all the students. The MBBS fees in deemed universities are higher when compared to the government colleges in India. The MBBS fees in most reputed medical colleges can go up to Rs. 28,60,700 annual fees.

MBBS Fees In Private Medical College

Private universities are approved by UGC and do not rely on the central or the state government. Moreover, they can also approve degrees but cannot have colleges affiliated under their name.

Private universities have the freedom to decide their own fees structure. However, the annual fees are fixed in few states like UP and Karnataka to avoid overcharging fees. Apart from the general quota, these private colleges offer more seats in management and NRI quota. Here are the approximate MBBS fees for medical colleges in India.

  • Management quota: MBBS fees in private colleges for Management quota varies from Rs. 4,00,000 in Kerala medical colleges to Rs. 17,95,000 in National Institute of Medical Science and Research, Jaipur.
  • NRI quota: MBBS fees for the NRI quota is decided by the individual institutions. The average annual MBBS course fee is 25,000 USD.
  • Government quota: Many colleges in India have a fixed number of seats for the state government quota. MBBS fees for government quota are less when compared to the other categories and are between Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 7,00,000 annually.
  • Others: Many private and self-financed colleges offer admissions under the “other quota”, and the fees for this varies from Rs. 21,00,000 to Rs. 40,00,000 per annum.
